Bedgebury National Pinetum

National Pinetum & Forest Gardens

The snow turns Bedgebury into a Winter Wonderland as it clings to the pine needles and cones. The chilly weather brings out foxes and weasels who show up well against the frost and snow.

February provides the chance to see some of the Pinetum’s early flowering rhododendrons and the start of the new seasons growth. Yew will already be in full flower and holly bushes are showing off their red berries.

The berry and cone crops around the Pinetum provide food for large numbers of birds including one of Britain’s rarest birds, the Hawfinch.

Daffodils, snowdrops, as well as emerging orchids can be seen at their flowering time of March and hail the start of Spring.
