Marshal

With the first frosts and the shorter days of autumn, our trees and plants are rapidly changing colour and are starting to shed their leaves. In particular the deciduous conifers are looking splendid. Look out for the Taxodiums (Swamp Cypresses) near Marshal's Lake.

Many of our evergreen conifers change colour in the winter and this is a good time to see them. Look along the bank on the far side of the lake from the visitors centre to see a wide variety of cultivars grown for their colour.

Further down Dallimore Valley look on the left for ginkgos changing colour, wildly coloured liquidambars and a couple of beautiful liriodendrons.

When you get to Marshal's Lake the best view is from the bridge looking left towards the Taxodiums.
